Getting Started
Q. How do I add PlumiBot to my LINE group?
Tap "Add to LINE" anywhere on this site, then add the bot as a friend. You can add it directly to a group by inviting it like you would any LINE friend.
Q. Does PlumiBot work in DMs or only in groups?
Both. In DMs, it translates messages to languages you set with
!setlang.
In groups, it translates to all configured group languages.
Q. Do I need to register to use PlumiBot?
Yes, a quick one-time onboarding in DM asks for your name and preferred language. It takes
15 seconds and you can
!skip
anytime.
Q. Is PlumiBot free to use?
Yes, the Free tier gives you 20 translations per month at no cost. Paid plans start at NT$100 ($3.16)/month for 500 translations.
Translation
Q. How many languages does PlumiBot support?
50+ languages including English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Thai, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and many more.
Q. Does it preserve the tone of my message?
Yes. Every translation includes a tone indicator (formal / casual / upset / etc.) so cultural nuance isn't lost. For idioms and slang, it also adds a cultural context note.
Q. What about long messages?
Messages over 500 characters are automatically summarized before translation, so your group doesn't get spammed with huge walls of text.
Voice & Image
Q. Can PlumiBot transcribe voice notes?
Yes. Send a LINE voice message and PlumiBot transcribes and translates it. Voice notes longer than 30 seconds also get a summary.
Q. What about images?
Send a photo of a menu, sign, document, or product label. PlumiBot detects the content type and delivers a clean, formatted translation. Photos without text (selfies, landscapes, food shots) are silently ignored.
Q. Does voice/image processing use more tokens?
Yes. Voice and image features use more tokens than text translation because they involve OCR and/or transcription in addition to translation. See the pricing page for estimates.
Games
Q. What games can I play with PlumiBot?
Word Chain (chain real words by their last letter) and Translation Duel (fastest correct translation wins). Both have group leaderboards.
Q. Can everyone in a mixed-language group play?
Yes. Game messages are automatically broadcast in every group language, so a French speaker and a Chinese speaker can play against each other fairly.
Q. What do I get for winning?
Bonus translation tokens (~700 tokens per win, about 2 free translations).
Pricing & Billing
Q. Is this subscription or one-time payment?
Both. Personal Pro (NT$100 ($3.16)/mo) and Group Pro (NT$200 ($6.33)/mo) are monthly subscriptions. Pay-As-You-Go lets you buy credits that never expire.
Q. What's a token and why do you use them?
Tokens are how AI measures text. A short message is ~50 tokens, a normal message is ~350 tokens. Token-based pricing is fair because you pay for actual usage, not arbitrary "messages."
Q. What happens if I exceed my monthly quota?
Translation pauses until the 1st of next month. You can upgrade to a higher tier or switch to Pay-As-You-Go anytime.
Q. Can I transfer my Group Pro subscription to a different group?
Yes. Use
!groupid
in the new group to get its ID, then manage the transfer from the dashboard.
Q. Do monthly tokens roll over?
No, monthly plans reset on the 1st. PAYG credits never expire.
Privacy & Security
Q. Does PlumiBot store my messages?
PlumiBot stores the last 7 days of group chat history so the
!digest
command can summarize recent conversations. Older messages are automatically deleted. Direct
messages are not stored.
Q. Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is stored in encrypted Supabase databases. Row-level security is enforced. No third parties have access.
