Sing with a friend in their alphabet, and tap to pick a song

Singing with a friend who reads another alphabet? !sing add japanese puts the sounds in their letters under every line too, right under yours. And the numbers under a list of songs are now buttons: tap one instead of typing it.

Highlights

  • A friend’s alphabet too. !sing add japanese writes the sounds of every line in katakana as well, so a friend from Japan sings along with you. Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Latin letters work the same way, up to three at once. !sing remove japanese takes one out again, and a button sends your last song again with the new letters.
  • Yours, for tonight. What you choose is only for you, in that chat: friends in the same group keep their own. It goes back to normal by itself 12 hours after your last song, or right away with !sing read auto. !sing read shows what you have and lets you change it with a tap.
  • Tap to pick. The numbers under a list of songs are now buttons, and so are the ones under a list of flights from !flight. In a group everyone sees them, but only the person who asked can pick from their list.
  • “1.” works. Answering a list with “1.” or “#1” used to get no reply. Any way of writing the number now picks it.

Karaoke is a paid feature, at about 10–25 messages a song, and about as much again for each extra alphabet, since the sounds are written once for each. We measured real songs again for this update: this site used to say 6 to 14 messages a song, which was too low. What a song costs hasn’t changed, only the number on the page.
